UPMC to Acquire CommonSpirit’s Trinity Health System in Ohio Valley Expansion
Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania-based UPMC has signed a definitive agreement with CommonSpirit Health to acquire Trinity Health System, a hospital system operating multiple hospitals and outpatient facilities across the Ohio Valley. The transaction, which is expected to close in fall 2026 pending regulatory approvals and customary closing conditions, includes Trinity West, Trinity East, Trinity St. Clairsville Neighborhood Hospital, Trinity Twin City Medical Center and associated clinics. Atrium Health and WakeMed Announce Merger Plans
With $2 billion in investment promised, Atrium Health and WakeMed have announced a plan to merge, which could create one of the largest health systems in North Carolina. Under the proposed deal, WakeMed will join Atrium Health, an 11-hospital system with more than 900 locations across the Charlotte region. UCB has announced that it entered into an agreement to acquire Candid Therapeutics. Under the terms of the agreement, UCB will pay $2 billion upfront payments and up to $200 million in potential future milestone payments.
