Miami-based Pediatrica Health Group acquired a pediatric primary care practice in the Westchester neighborhood of Miami-Dade County operated by Dr. Juan Ruiz-Unger.
The acquired practice has delivered care to local families for more than 40 years, including well-child checks, sick visits, chronic conditions and support for underserved patients with special needs. Pediatrica Health Group operates a multi-site platform providing pediatric primary care for children from birth to age 18 and supplies acquired practices with back-office resources and technology that reduce administrative burdens and expand capacity, including for Medicaid patients. The transaction has enabled the addition of APRN Javier Torres Hernandez, who has 30 years of pediatric experience.
The deal continues Pediatrica Health Group’s expansion in Florida pediatric primary care through add-on acquisitions following its 2025 growth equity investment from M33 Growth. Supported by a full back-office team and new technology, the acquired practice staff will be relieved of administrative burdens, freeing them up to spend more time on patient care and welcome even more patients. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
