Donaldson Company Purchases Isolere Bio
Donaldson Company, Inc. announced on February 21 that it acquired Durham, North Carolina-based Isolere Bio, Inc. With the addition of Isolere to Donaldson’s portfolio, Donaldson is positioned to create premier separation and filtration solutions for emerging genetic-based drugs. The financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed. Isolere Bio is an early-stage biotechnology company that develops novel and proprietary IsoTag reagents and accompanying filtration processes used for the purification and streamlined manufacturing of biopharmaceuticals. JLL Capital Markets Announces Sale of Erie, Colorado Medical Office Building
On February 21, JLL Capital Markets announced that it closed on the sale of an Erie, Colorado medical office building (MOB). An undisclosed Arizona-based private real estate company bought the facility. The 8,000-square-foot building was sold by Evergreen Devco, Inc. for $5.65 million. The building is occupied by UCHealth, a not-for-profit healthcare system, and is located on 0.71 acres of land. The price is approximately $706 per square foot. Behavioral Health Care M&A Activity May Continue to Slide in 2023
Mergers and acquisitions activity in the Behavioral Health Care (BHC) sector declined 14% last year compared to the record level of deals recorded in 2021. One industry expert expects a continuation of that trend. “We expect behavioral health deal volume to slow slightly in 2023,” said Steven Grassa, vice president at Provident Healthcare Partners. “Rising interest rates and tight lending markets will likely impact larger transactions [$300 million and higher] more than most lower middle market deals.” According to data captured in the LevinPro HC database, BHC transactions totaled 108 in 2022 after the total reached 125 in 2021. Bavarian Nordic Acquires Emergent BioSolutions’ Travel Health Business for up to $380 Million
Bavarian Nordic has acquired Emergent BioSolutions’ travel health business for up to $380 million. Upon closing of the transaction, Bavarian Nordic will pay Emergent $270 million in upfront cash consideration. Bavarian Nordic will also pay Emergent up to $30 million in sales-based milestones associated with commercial products and up to $80 million in development-based milestones associated with the CHIKV VLP program.
