Medical Office Building M&A Activity Soars: Anchor Health & JLL Make Big Moves In the Market
Through the first half of 2022, the medical office building (MOB) space had been busy, creating near-record breaking deal volume. As one of the most active markets, many people, us included, have considered it to be impervious to recession or economic stress. But, as 2022 continues onward, industry experts are starting to see a decline in deal activity. Anchor Health Properties has acquired a 9,500-square-foot medical office building in Chula Vista, California. Terms of the deal were not disclosed. The Class A outpatient asset is master leased to Sanderling Renal Services, a specialty care dialysis network based in Nashville, Tennessee, with multiple locations across the United States. ARC Health, a Thurston Group portfolio company, has announced the acquisition of Focus Forward Counseling & Consulting, Inc. (FFCC), a multilingual therapy practice with two locations in the Atlanta, Georgia area. This marks ARC Health’s third acquisition of October 2022. Terms of the deal were not disclosed. FFCC’s 27 psychiatrists, psychologists and therapists offer their services in Mandarin, Hindi, Punjabi, Danish, Hebrew, Russian and Spanish. Thermo Fisher Acquires The Binding Site Group for $2.6 Billion
Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc. announced its acquisition of The Binding Site Group, a global specialist protein diagnostics company, from a shareholder group led by European private equity firm Nordic Capital, in an all-cash transaction valued at £2.25 billion, or $2.6 billion at current exchange rates. The transaction is expected to be completed in the first half of 2023. Partnering with Go-Health Urgent Care for the deal, Hartford Healthcare has purchased Branford, Connecticut-based Stony Creek Ventures LLC and its two urgent care facilities in Branford and Orange.
