Best Life Brands, a portfolio company of private equity firm The Riverside Company, announced that it has added another home-focused company to its portfolio. The company will acquire Next Day Access, according to a March 25 press release.  Next Day Access is a leading provider of home access solutions to homeowners and businesses across the United States and Canada. Abry Partners and The Riverside Company are selling North American Dental Group (NADG), concluding a four-year investment in the dental service organization (DSO). NADG operates in the United States, and its network includes more than 200 dental practices in 11 states and 23 regional markets. The buyer is Jacobs Holding AG, a global professional investment group that supports the Jacobs Foundation, one of the world’s leading charitable foundations. No financial terms were disclosed. ResMed Adds HealthCareFirst to Home Health Solutions

Medical device maker ResMed (NYSE: RMD) is moving deeper into the Home Health & Hospice arena. The company announced its acquisition of HealthCareFirst, which provides software solutions for home health and hospice agencies. HealthCareFirst offers electronic health record (EHR) software, billing and coding services, and advanced analytics to help agencies optimize their clinical, financial and administrative processes. Home Health Deals Still Sluggish in Q3:17

The Home Health & Hospice sector has been buffeted by headwinds in 2017. Besides the ongoing labor shortage and federal fraud investigations, the President’s recently signed executive orders affecting cost-sharing reductions for families and individuals earning less than 400% of the federal poverty level could curtail use of home health agencies. Deal volume remained depressed in the third quarter, at 10 transactions, which represents 20% of the 51 deals announced in the past 12 months.
