Novant Health Acquires Spine & Scoliosis Specialists
Novant Health, based in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, announced that it entered into an agreement to acquire Spine & Scoliosis Specialists. Spine & Scoliosis Specialists provides spine care from two locations in the Greensboro, North Carolina MSA. According to its website, there are three physicians on staff who are supported by a team of four. Novant Health is a not-for-profit integrated system of more than 850 locations, including 19 hospitals, more than 700 physician clinics and urgent care centers, outpatient facilities and imaging and pharmacy services. On May 2, Concentra Biosciences reported that it acquired Kronos Bio, Inc. for $34.7 million. As of April 30, 2025, there were 60,969,214 Kronos common stock shares. At a price of $0.57 per share, the total purchase price is nearly $34.8 million. Kronos Bio is a biopharmaceutical company focused on the discovery and development of small molecule therapeutics to address deregulated transcription, a hallmark of cancer and autoimmune diseases. Healthcare M&A Heats Up in April
As anticipated by advisors and industry professionals, deal activity in the healthcare M&A market began to accelerate in April 2025. According to data captured in the LevinPro HC database, there were 184 healthcare transactions reported in April. This is up 34% from March 2025 when 137 acquisitions were announced, and 8% from April 2024, which saw 170 deals. Longstreet Clinic and Northeast Georgia Health System (NGHS) have reached a definitive agreement for Longstreet Clinic to become an official part of NGHS during the fourth quarter of 2025.
