NexPoint Acquires Two Life Science Properties
NexPoint announced that it acquired two life science properties in Philadelphia from Frontida BioPharm, LLC for an undisclosed price. The properties were indirectly acquired by NexPoint Life Sciences II DST, a Delaware statutory trust seeking to raise $42 million in equity from accredited investors via a private placement offering. The two properties include nearly 18 acres of land and more than 250,000 square feet of interior space. On May 16, MedVenture Health, a venture capital and private equity firm, announced it acquired Canyon Labs for an undisclosed price. According to the LevinPro HC database, this acquisition represents the 55th Laboratories, MRI and Dialysis transaction of the year. Canyon Labs provides laboratory testing, consulting, clinical research and Institutional Review Board services for pharmaceutical, nutraceutical and medical devices. It is based in Bluffdale, Utah. Capitol Pain Institute (CPI) has acquired Balcones Pain Consultants and Water Leaf Surgery Center, adding three clinics and one ambulatory surgical center (ASC) in the Austin MSA to CPI’s national interventional pain management platform. WELL Health Technologies announced on May 19 that it acquired MCI Medical Clinics (Alberta) Inc. (MCI AB) from MCI Onehealth Technologies Inc. The purchase price is approximately $1.48 million, or $2 million CAD. MCI AB owns and operates five primary care clinics in Alberta, Canada. Regard Recovery Acquires Three Addiction Treatment Centers
Vertava Health announced on May 15 that it sold three addiction treatment centers to Regard Recovery. The substance use disorder centers are now known as Texas Recovery Center in Scurry, Texas; Swift River in Cummington, Massachusetts; and The Bluffs in Sherrodsville, Ohio. The acquisition of these three centers is part of a scale-back and pivot strategy for Vertava Health as it will allow the company to expand its mental health business and adjust its addicted treatment business trajectory. After three months of negotiation, Flagler Health+ and UF Health have reached a definitive agreement to merge their two organizations together. Flagler Health+ operates a 335-bed acute-care general hospital from an 80-acre site just south of the city limits of St. Augustine, Florida.
