OptumHealth Acquires Stewardship Health 

UnitedHealth Group announced that one of its divisions, OptumHealth, has entered into an agreement to acquire Stewardship Health from Steward Health.  Stewardship Health is Steward Health’s physician network. The deal includes primary care doctors and other providers across nine states, including Massachusetts.  OptumHealth assists individuals to navigate the healthcare system, finance their care and achieve health and well-being goals. OptumHealth includes more than 90,000 doctors nationwide.  The deal is part of Steward’s effort to recover from a financial hole and preserve jobs. The deal is still being finalized. Effective March 28, 2024, Eye Physicians of Libertyville doctors have assumed care for Northern Illinois Eye Clinic patients. Labcorp and OPKO Health announced on March 28 that they have entered into an agreement for Labcorp to acquire select assets of BioReference Health, a wholly owned subsidiary of OPKO Health.
