Sutter Health Acquires 5 Radiation Oncology Centers
Sutter Health announced on March 1 that it was purchasing five radiation oncology centers from GenesisCare, a cancer care services provider. The centers are in Modesto, San Luis Obispo, Santa Cruz, Stockton and Templeton, California. Sutter Health’s networks spans more than 20 counties across northern California. It operates 24 hospitals (4,321 acute care beds), 34 outpatient surgery centers and myriad cardiac, cancer, rehabilitation, behavioral health and other centers. National Cancer Care Alliance (NCCA) announced that it was merging with Quality Cancer Care Alliance (QCCA) to create ONCare Alliance, LLC. The financial terms of this merger were not disclosed. Halma plc announced on March 4 the acquisition of Rovers Medical Devices BV for an initial cash consideration of €85 million ($91.8 million USD), with additional payments of up to €6 million (about $6.5 million) pending future performance.
