Shryver Medical and Revelstoke Capital Double Down in Texas

Schryver Medical LLC, a portfolio company of Revelstoke Capital Partners, announced two acquisitions in Texas in late December. Community Portable X-Ray, Inc., as its name implies, provides mobile x-ray and other imaging services to long-term health care facilities, home care, psychiatric hospitals, industrial sites, dialysis centers and athletic teams. Besides its base in Plano, it also has operations in Fort Worth, Houston and San Antonio. Aurora Diagnostics Adds More Labs

Independent laboratory company Aurora Diagnostics made its first announced acquisition in 2015, paying an undisclosed amount for Consultants in Laboratory Medicine of Greater Toledo, Inc. The target is a hospital-based practice providing anatomic laboratory medicine professional pathology services to 11 hospitals in Michigan and Ohio. Aurora Diagnostics focuses on anatomic pathology and now has 25 locations in the United States. Last year it acquired four pathology lab companies: West Georgia Pathology, LLC; Arizona Dermatopathology; Hallmark Pathology, PC and Mid-Atlantic Pathology Services, Inc. GE Healthcare Sells Clarient Lab Business

GE Healthcare (NYSE: GE)  sold Clarient, Inc. and its wholly owned subsidiary Clarient Diagnostic Services, Inc., which provides comprehensive cancer diagnostic testing to hospitals, physicians and the pharmaceutical industry. The acquirer was NeoGenomics, Inc. (NASDAQ: NEO), which,  together with its subsidiary, NeoGenomics Laboratories, Inc., operates a network of cancer-focused testing labs providing genetic and molecular services. The price, totaling $275,200,000, consists of $80 in cash, $110 million in preferred stock at $7.50 per share, and 15 million shares of NeoGenomics common stock ($85.2 million, based on the prior-day closing price of $5.68 per share). Medical Imaging Deals Abound

Only half way through October, we’ve seen three transactions targeting a medical imaging company in our Laboratories, MRI & Dialysis sector. That brings to 10 the number of imaging targets in 2015, out of the current total of 39 deals recorded in the sector. It began on October 1, with Konica Minolta Medical Imaging USA’s announcement that it was buying Viztek, LLC, a digital software and hardware imaging company, for an undisclosed price. Another optical giant, Toshiba Medical Systems Corporation, announced its acquisition of Olea Medical SA, a French medical imaging applications company, for an undisclosed price.
