US Eye, a physician-led, patient-focused consolidator in the eye care space, acquired three optometry practices in central Florida, including the practice of Rick Billings, O.D., Hart Eye Care, and Precision Eye Care of Central Florida.
Rick Billings, O.D., is a solo practitioner in Sarasota, Florida. His practice has been serving patients since 1983. Hart Eye Care was founded by Andrew Hart, O.D. and Brenda Hart, O.D. in 1993 and is based in Fort Myers, Florida. Precision Eye Care of Central Florida, located in Altamonte Springs and Mount Dora, was founded in 1974 and employs two optometrists, Jennifer Hill, O.D. and Kaitlyn Smith, O.D.
US Eye, a portfolio company of private equity firm Pamlico Capital, is a group of vertically integrated, multi-specialty physician practices providing patients with care in ophthalmology, optometry, dermatology, audiology and cosmetic facial surgery. It is based in Sarasota, Florida and employs 106 providers and more than 1,000 staff members across five states. It operates 57 offices and five ambulatory surgery centers in the Southeast United States.
The optometry practices will integrate their distinct operations into the US Eye model, enriching patient care and expanding services. The acquisition will allow each practice to maintain a personal relationship with their patients while broadening their capacity for care.
This is US Eye’s sixth acquisition of 2021. Previously it acquired Griffey Eye Care & Laser Center in Chesapeake, Virginia; Albemarle Eye Center and Precision Eye Care in Elizabeth City, North Carolina; Sungate Cataract, LASIK and Vision Center in Bluffton, South Carolina, The Retina Center of Charleston in Charleston, South Carolina; and Southwest Florida Eye Care of Fort Myers, Florida. Additionally, this is the fifth optometry acquisition of 2021.
