Candescent Partners, a Boston-based private equity firm, acquired ENT Partners LLC in 2018 to build a leading network of ear, nose and throat (ENT) and sleep providers. And now in 2021, it seems like the company is making good on that mission. In just two weeks into the new year, the company has added three practices to its network, according to search results in our Healthcare Deal Database. No terms were disclosed.

On January 7, the physician group purchased Arlington ENT based in Arlington Heights, Illinois. Arlington ENT – Head & Neck and Facial Plastic Surgery offers a wide range of services within the surgical specialties of cosmetic and reconstructive facial plastic surgery and ENT-head and neck surgery, specializing in rhinoplasty and rhinoplasty revision. Dr. Lawrence Martin, Arlington ENT’s physician, is associated with Northwest Community Healthcare in Arlington Heights, Illinois and St. Alexius Medical Center in Hoffman Estates, Illinois. He is also an attending surgeon at Northwest Community Day Surgery Center.

Then on January 12, ENT Partners announced its second and third transactions. In Elgin, Illinois, ENT Partners added Specialty Care Institute, a regional leader in ENT medical and surgical services. The practice has two board-certified otolaryngologists, a facial plastic and reconstructive surgeon and two audiologists in three locations. This deal, along with the addition of Arlington ENT, expands ENT Partners’ presence in the Chicago metro area.

In Baltimore, Maryland, the company acquired Maryland ENT Center, which specializes in nasal and sinus disorders, cosmetic surgery of the nose, snoring and sleep apnea, voice and swallowing disorders, hearing and equilibrium disorders, pediatric ENT diseases and head and neck tumors. The practice has three locations in the Baltimore metro area. This partnership will expand ENT Partners’ presence in the Baltimore metro area. Both transactions closed in December 2020.
