Retina Consultants of America, a portfolio company of Webster Equity Partners, is wasting no time to expand. The physician group was just formed this past March through the merger of Retina Consultants of Houston, Retina Group of Florida, Long Island Vitreoretinal Consultants, California Retina Consultants and Retinal Consultants Serving Northern California in a deal valued at $350 million. Combined, the practices generated EBITDA of roughly $80 million.
Now, Retina Consultants of America has added Palmetto Retina Center, LLC (PRC), which was founded in 2001 and serves central South Carolina. Its physicians offer comprehensive care in the treatment of vitreous and retinal diseases. PRC is involved in numerous clinical trials and is dedicated to the advancement of new therapies for retinal diseases. The practice has five physicians. No terms were disclosed.
According to search results in the HealthCareMandA.com Deal Database, this is the seventh leading retina specialty practice to join Retina Consultants of America as the organization continues its expansion across the U.S. Provident Healthcare Partners served as exclusive financial advisor to Palmetto Retina Center. The sixth practice, VitreoRetinal Surgery, PA, was added back in August. VitreoRetinal Surgery, founded in 1988, is the largest group of retina specialists in the north-central region of the U.S., serving all of Minnesota and adjacent states.
