Community Psychiatric Clinic Merges with Navos

Two Seattle-based not-for-profits have teamed up to scale up, essentially. Community Psychiatric Clinic (CPC) and Navos, a wholly owned affiliate of MultiCare Health System, announced their merger on June 14. Navos is the public behavioral health provider for more than 40% of all youth served in the King County community behavioral health system, and is the largest behavioral health provider in Washington state. Steward Health Buys 8 Community Health Hospitals

It’s no secret that Community Health Systems (NYSE: CYH) is selling off hospitals and medical office buildings to pay down its $15 billion debt. Its latest deal offloads eight hospitals with a total of 1,818 beds in Florida, Ohio and Pennsylvania to Steward Health Care LLC for an undisclosed price. Community Health Systems Starts Divesting Hospitals

It’s no secret that Community Health Systems (NYSE: CYH) has a $15 billion debt load, and that despite its spin-off of Quorum Health Corp. (NYSE: QHC) last April, its financial performance hasn’t improved. During the company’s third-quarter earnings call on November 1, CEO Wayne Smith said the company was in discussions to shed 17 of its 157 hospitals, as well as home health services and non-hospital real estate. The most recent deal following that call was announced on November 17.
