Golden State Dermatology (GSD), a portfolio company of growth capital private equity firm, Sorenson Capital, announced a new partnership with the dermatology practice of Emil Tanghetti, MD located in Sacramento, California. The new partnership expands GSD’s network to 28 practices across the San Francisco Bay and California’s Central Valley and Sacramento Valley.
The Center for Dermatology and Laser Surgery is a dermatology practice established in 1981 by Emil A. Tanghetti, M.D. The Center for Dermatology and Laser Surgery was one of the first centers to introduce lasers into an office-based practice in 1994.
GSD is physician-owned and led and is rapidly growing with more than 60 providers in the San Francisco Bay Area and California’s Central Valley. GSD’s services include dermatology, cosmetics, Mohs surgery for skin cancer, pathology and plastic surgery.
The partnership with GSD affords the Sacramento clinic more time to focus on patient care, both medical and cosmetic, in the field of dermatology. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
According to data captured from the LevinPro HC database, this represents the 34th dermatology transaction of 2022. The most active dermatology acquirer this year has been Epiphany Dermatology, which has announced five transactions within the subsector since March.
