OneOncology, a network of independent oncologists, announced on December 20 that it purchased five oncology practices. 

The New York Cancer & Blood Specialists has a team of 90 physicians across more than 45 locations, with 25 of them joining the OneOncology team. Los Angeles Cancer Network provides oncology services to the Los Angeles MSA and is run by four doctors. Pennsylvania Cancer Specialists & Research Institute has four locations in Pennsylvania. The practice is run by four physicians. With seven locations in Louisiana, Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center is run by two providers and is based in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Tennessee Oncology has one location in Nashville, Tennessee and is run by two providers. None of the financial terms were disclosed. 

OneOncology, a portfolio company of General Atlantic, partners with practices to expand their cancer care services. Its network includes 850 physicians practicing at more than 180 sites, serving approximately 280,000 patients annually. 

In 2022, OneOncology added 159 physicians to its platform by purchasing practices and working with practices to hire physicians. Previously in 2022, OneOncology purchased Cancer & Hematology Centers of Western Michigan and Oncology Specialists of Charlotte.

According to data captured from the LevinPro HC database, these deals represent the 587th Physician Medical Groups transaction of 2022, 13 of them in the oncology specialty. The oncology deal with the largest purchase price in 2022 is Digital Transformation Opportunities Corp.’s (NASDAQ: DTOC) acquisition of American Oncology Network for $500 million.
