Gastro Health, a portfolio company of private equity firms OMERS Private Equity and Audax Private Equity, has finalized a partnership with Springfield Gastroenterology in Springfield, Ohio, marking Gastro Health’s fourth partnership in Ohio since October 2020 when it acquired Ohio Gastroenterology & Liver Institute. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

The agreement also includes the endoscopy center, Gastro Care, located on the same premises as Springfield Gastroenterology.

Gastro Health is a medical group specializing in the treatment of gastrointestinal disorders, nutrition and digestive health. Gastro Health has a presence in Florida, Alabama, Washington, Virginia, Ohio and Maryland with more than 145 locations and 370 physicians consisting of medical office practices, infusion centers, imaging services and a specialty pharmacy.

According to the LevinPro HC database, this marks the 463rd Physician Medical Group transaction of 2022 and the 22nd deal within the gastroenterology subsector. This marks Gastro Health’s seventh transaction of the year. The company previously acquired Optimal Digestive Care and Gastroenterology Associates of Pensacola in January, three gastroenterology practices in Massachusetts (Greater Boston Gastroenterology, P.C., Digestive Health Specialists, P.C. and Middlesex Gastroenterology) in February, Tri-Cities Endoscopy Center, LLC and Goldberg, Rosenstein, Khan & Forman, M.D., P.A. in April, Digestive Disorders Associates in June and Charlottesville Gastroenterology Associates in August.
