On May 2, Infusion Associates, a Grand Rapids, Michigan-based infusion center, announced that it was purchasing Okemos Infusion Center, marking the 10th infusion services acquisition of 2022, the first of May and the first for Infusion Associates since 2018. The financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
Infusion Associates is independently owned; it has more than five locations in the state and more than 90 healthcare professionals caring for upwards of 2,500 patients a month. Based in Okemos, Michigan, Okemos Infusion Center provides support to patients seven days a week.
Okemos Infusion Center will be rebranded to Infusion Associates, joining one of the fastest growing networks of outpatient infusion therapy clinics in the United States. The center will adopt Infusion Associates’ service model, making it easy for patients to receive infusion therapies with the support of physicians, advanced practice providers, nursing and pharmacy services. In addition to the Okemos location, Infusion Associates is opening another infusion center nearby in East Lansing.
Similar to other subsectors, infusion services is experiencing an upswing in deal volume. In all of 2021, there were only ten infusion services deals so to see the subsector hit ten deals in four months makes for a rather busy market. Revitalist Lifestyle and Wellness Ltd. made two acquisitions this year, purchasing Alchemy Wellness for $800,000 and a Jacksonville, Florida ketamine clinic for $100,000. Other players in the market have been the private equity firm Ridgemont Equity Partners acquiring American Outcomes Management and infusion company FlexCare Infusion Centers purchasing InfuseAble Care.
