Commonwealth Pain & Spine, based in Louisville, Kentucky, announced on November 25 the acquisition of two pain management practices: Piedmont Interventional Pain Care and Carolina Pain Physician

Based in Salisbury, North Carolina, Piedmont Interventional Pain Care is run by a team of two medical professionals: Dr. Robert B. Wilson and Kris Watson, a physician assistant.  

Carolina Pain Physicians is based in Ladson, South Carolina. According to its website, the pain management practice is operated by two doctors. 

Commonwealth Pain & Spine is a pain management solutions practice with 39 locations across Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, North Carolina, Ohio, South Carolina and Tennessee. According to its website, there are more than 100 medical professionals on staff, including 34 physicians. 

This is Commonwealth Pain & Spine’s first acquisition of the year. Terms were not disclosed. 

According to data captured in the LevinPro HC database, this transaction represents the 463rd Physician Medical Group acquisition of 2025, and the eighth in the pain management specialty. There were seven pain management deals reported in 2024, as well as seven reported in 2023.
