TUSK Practice Sales, a healthcare-focused M&A advisory firm, announced that it represented a dental practice in a recent transaction. The firm advised A Beautiful Smile on its acquisition by MB2 Dental Solutions.
A Beautiful Smile is based in Jacksonville, North Carolina. According to its website, there are two physicians on staff: Dr. Gina Collins Mancini and Dr. Whitney Mitchell.
MB2 Dental Solutions, a portfolio company of middle-market private equity firm Charlesbank Capital Partners since February 2021, partners with dentists and specialists. Founded in 2007, MB2 offers general dentistry services, orthodontics, cosmetic dentistry and oral surgery. In November 2024, Warburg Pincus invested $525 million in the company.
This transaction marks MB2 Dental’s 12th acquisition of the year. It is also the second practice in North Carolina that MB2 has purchased in 2025. The financial terms were not disclosed.
According to data captured in the LevinPro HC database, this transaction represents the 393rd Physician Medical Group (PMG) acquisition of 2025, and the 194th in the dental specialty. There were 264 dental transactions reported in 2024, and 201 in 2023.
Dental accounts for the largest portion of PMG transactions announced since the start of the year at more than 49%. It also represents nearly 12% of the 1,671 healthcare transactions announced in 2025 so far. Dental accounts for nearly 53% of all PMG acquisitions in 2024.
