San Jose, California-based ACL Digital has announced the acquisition of Princeton, New Jersey-based Symbiance. Financial terms were not disclosed. 

Symbiance is a data-driven, technology-enabled contract research organization (CRO) with more than three decades of expertise in clinical data services and operations, medical monitoring, project management, medical writing and pharmacovigilance segments.

According to ACL Digital, the acquisition of Symbiance solidifies its position as an end-to-end provider of clinical research and data CRO solutions on a global scale. It also strengthens ACL Digital’s overall life sciences portfolio by integrating deep domain expertise in clinical data management, data standardization, biostatistics, statistical programming, medical writing and pharmacovigilance. 

According to data captured in the LevinPro HC database, this transaction represents the 60th Life Sciences R&D acquisition of the year, and the 13th in the CRO specialty. There were 33 CRO acquisition announcements in 2024, and 44 in 2023.
