SmartLinx, announced on April 28 that it has acquired StafferLink, a provider of contingent staffing management software for the healthcare industry. The acquisition was backed by Los Angeles, California-based private equity firm Lone View Capital and follows its investment in Smartlinx in 2023.
StafferLink provides a purpose-built SaaS platform for healthcare facilities, staffing agencies and managed service providers to source, manage and pay their contingent workforce. These solutions streamline end-to-end staffing operations, covering recruiting, credentialing, scheduling, time capture, payroll and billing. In aggregate, StafferLink fills more than 2 million shifts and manage more than $1 billion of spending annually across more than 2,000 agencies.
Established in 2000, SmartLinx provides workforce management and human capital solutions specifically built for the long-term healthcare industry.
Leerink Partners served as exclusive financial advisor and Choate Hall & Stewart LLP served as legal counsel to StafferLink. Lincoln International served as exclusive financial advisor, Holland & Knight LLP served as legal counsel and Ropes & Gray LLP served as financing counsel to Smartlinx. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

According to data captured in the LevinPro HC database, this acquisition represents the 10th healthcare staffing transaction of 2025. Earlier in the April, India-based BorderPlus acquired Onea Care, a German company offering staffing and business consultancy, specializing in the recruitment of nurses in countries outside the European Union. There were 26 healthcare staffing deals announced during 2024, 29 announced during 2023 and 35 announced during 2022.
