SightMD, a portfolio company of Chicago-based private equity firm Chicago Pacific Founders, announced on January 21 that it acquired Sambursky Eye & Esthetics.
Sambursky Eye & Esthetics is an eye care practice with one location in Johnson City, New York. According to its website, there are four physicians on staff.
SightMD is an ophthalmic provider group, offering patients access to more than 70 ophthalmic surgeons and specialists at 33 locations in New York City and Long Island. Its services include laser cataract surgery and lens implantation, glaucoma management, retinal disorder treatment, corneal services and neuroophthalmology.
This transaction marks SightMD’s second acquisition of 2025; earlier in the month, SightMD Connecticut, an offshoot of SightMD, purchased Connecticut-based Doctor & Associates. The financial terms of the Sambursky Eye & Esthetics deal were not disclosed.
According to data in the LevinPro HC database, this marks the 27th Physician Medical Group acquisition of 2025 and the third in the eye care specialty. In 2024 and 2023, SightMD completed two purchases each year.
