RCap Equity Partners, a private equity firm based in Wayne, Pennsylvania, announced that it acquired Emerald Coast Infectious Disease (ECID) for an undisclosed price.  

ECID is an infectious disease practice with five locations in Florida. According to its website, the practice is run by six physicians. 

RCap Equity Partners is a middle-market private equity firm that is focused on education, training and human capital businesses. The firm targets investments in companies with $3 to $15 million EBITDA, and will do smaller add-on acquisitions for portfolio companies. 

Hyde Park Capital served as the exclusive investment banker to ECID for this transaction. Carlton Fields served as legal counsel to ECID.  

In the press release put out by Hyde Park Capital, the company noted that this partnership marks the first private equity investment in the infectious disease specialty. 

According to data captured in the LevinPro HC database, this marks the 388th Physician Medical Group (PMG) transaction of the year, and the 26th in the internal medicine specialty.
