On September 18, Meridian Health Services announced that it purchased eight clinics from Lutheran Health Network.
The eight clinics being acquired are in Indiana: three in Bluffton, two in Peru and one each in Ossian, Warren and Markle. Lutheran Health spokeswoman Joy Lohse said the clinics currently have a combined 61 physicians, advanced practitioners and staff.
Meridian Health Services is a progressive healthcare organization specializing in “whole-person” health, integrating physical, mental and social well-being. The organization has been serving the community for nearly 50 years and is accredited by the Joint Commission and certified by the Indiana Division of Mental Health and Addictions.
Financial terms of the deal, which includes transitioning family medicine and pediatric services, along with providers and staff, are not being disclosed. The physical location of the eight clinics will remain the same but current providers and staff will then become Meridian Health employees. The ownership change is expected to occur on or before November 1, 2024.
According to data captured in the LevinPro HC database, this acquisition marks the 38th health clinic transaction of the year. Throughout all of 2023, there were 39 health clinic acquisitions announced.
