OneOncology announced its acquisition of Navigating Cancer on September 4, 2024. Navigating Cancer is a comprehensive patient engagement and care management platform. The digital health company is based in Seattle, Washington.
OneOncology is a national network of independent community oncologists who assist partner practices in expanding their cancer care services. The company’s 1,000 cancer care providers care for approximately 615,000 patients at more than 339 sites nationwide. In April 2023, OneOncology was acquired by TPG Capital and AmerisourceBergen from General Atlantic.
The acquisition has already allowed Navigating Cancer to accelerate technology investments to benefit providers, clinical staff and patients. Following the transaction, Navigating Cancer will continue to operate as a standalone business and focus on all community oncology practices. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
This transaction marks OneOncology’s seventh acquisition of the year. Since January, the company has acquired Clearview Cancer Institute, Carolina Oncology Specialists, Connecticut Oncology Group, Anderson Area Cancer Center, Lowcountry Oncology Associates and United Urology Group. Through this strategic series of acquisitions, OneOncology has solidified its position as a prominent player in the oncology sector, enhancing its appeal as an acquirer.
According to data captured in the LevinPro HC database, this acquisition represents the 165th eHealth transaction of 2024, and the 22nd in the patient engagement specialty. There were 17 patient engagement deals announced during 2023, and 43 announced during 2022.
