Altrix Technology announced on August 14 that it has acquired two United Kingdom-based healthcare staffing companies: TFS Healthcare and Soleus People.
TFS Healthcare specializes in the placement of healthcare professionals on a temporary, contract and permanent basis within the National Health Service (NHS) and private organizations, nationwide. When it was founded in 2010, the company initially focused on supplying mental health professionals. It now supports more than 60 trusts with a contingent workforce across various healthcare specialties.
Soleus People, incorporated in 2014, is a nurse staffing firm that provides general and specialist nurses to 28 clients across the NHS and the private sector.
Altrix Technology is a technology-driven nursing agency providing full compliance services that allow nurses to self-book shifts in the NHS via an app.
Ben Cambage, founder of TFS Healthcare and Soleus People, will join Altix’s board. The acquisition was completed on 12 August. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Altrix said the deal will make it one of the largest nursing and midwifery agency staff suppliers in the United Kingdom. The deal triples the size of Altrix’s contingent healthcare workforce.
“The use of our software empowers the agency healthcare workforce to directly manage their work-life and supports the provision of improved financial value to the NHS and other healthcare providers,” Altrix Managing Director Megan Grant said in a press release. “The scale achieved by the acquisition of TFS Healthcare and Soleus People enables these outcomes to be delivered to a much larger customer base.”
According to data captured in the LevinPro HC database, this acquisition represents the 12th healthcare staffing transaction of 2024. Other acquirers in the space this year have been SVC Group, Olympus Partners, MedSource Travelers, GQR, GHR Healthcare, Knox Lane, ShiftMed, Arthur Lawrence and Aya Healthcare. There were 29 healthcare staffing deals announced during 2023, and 35 announced during 2022.
