HouseWorks announced that it has acquired the Pittsburgh-based personal care services company Bridge City Home Care. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Bridge City Home Care provides non-medical in-home care services to individuals in Pittsburgh. The company offers personalized, compassionate and optimal care solutions, with a team of trained healthcare professionals. Its services include personal care and daily living assistance.
Founded in 1998, HouseWorks provides in-home care services in Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New York, Pennsylvania and Tennessee. Along with traditional home care services, HouseWorks helps clients with certain home modification needs. HouseWorks received a strategic equity investment from private equity firm InTandem Capital Partners in January 2023.
One of the reasons Bridge City Home Care was an attractive acquisition target to HouseWorks was because of an existing relationship.
“Bridge City was owned by the same individual who previously owned Druk Home Care, which HouseWorks successfully partnered with in late 2023,” according to HouseWorks CEO Mike Trigilio. “This existing relationship with the previous owner created a unique synergy, making it a natural progression for HouseWorks to bring Bridge City into our growing family of companies.”
The transaction further increases HouseWorks Pennsylvania footprint, marking its third transaction in the state. Trigilio noted that Pennsylvania is a key market for HouseWorks.
“Pennsylvania continues to be a significant market of focus for HouseWorks and the team given the attractive HCBS environment within the state,” he said. “Pennsylvania is one of the largest enrollees of HCBS participants, while also being a top ten state in terms of overall spend. The opportunity to continue to expand west, into key markets such as Pittsburgh, will also grow our meal delivery service and will be a key priority for the team as we finish 2024 and look to 2025.”
According to data captured in the LevinPro HC database, this acquisition represents the 59th Home Health & Hospice deal of 2024, as well as the third deal in the personal care and home aides specialty. This also marks HouseWorks’ second deal announcement of the year, and its sixth since it received backing from InTandem Capital Partners.
