SurgNet Health Partners, Inc. announced on August 8 a partnership with Tuscaloosa Endoscopy Center, a leading provider of gastrointestinal diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic procedures in West Alabama. The deal closed on July 3, 2024.
Tuscaloosa Endoscopy Center is an ambulatory surgery center (ASC) in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. Led by board-certified gastroenterologists Dr. AB Reddy, Dr. Rekha Khurana and Dr. Kartika Reddy, Tuscaloosa Endoscopy Center has been a staple in the region since it was founded in 1982.
SurgNet Health Partners is a Nashville-based ambulatory surgery center development and management company. SurgNet was founded in 2022 with backing from three private equity firms: Fulcrum Equity Partners, Leavitt Equity Partners and Harpeth Capital.
Dr. Reddy will continue to remain actively involved in providing care and shaping the future of the ASC. The partnership adds yet another state to SurgNet’s ongoing portfolio expansion, marking a significant milestone for the company, which has shown a strong trajectory since its launch in 2022. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
This marks SurgNet’s third acquisition since October 2023. The company has also acquired Warren, Ohio-based Lippy Surgery Center and Dearborn, Michigan-based Executive Ambulatory Surgery Center, both for undisclosed prices.
According to data captured in the LevinPro HC database, this acquisition marks the 24th ASC transaction of the year, and the second announced in Alabama. The other ASC transaction was VPU Gardendale’s acquisition of a 15,196-square-foot ASC in Gardendale, Alabama for $6.81 million, according to public records filed July 24.
