OneOncology, a portfolio company of TPG Capital and AmerisourceBergen, announced that it strengthened its presence in South Carolina with the acquisition of Anderson Area Cancer Center.
Anderson Area Cancer Center offers patients high quality, personalized healthcare close to their own home, including infusion, clinical trials, in-office drug dispensing and lab services. According to its website, the oncology practice has four physicians on staff who are supported by a team of three employees.
OneOncology is a national network of independent community oncologists who assist partner practices in expanding their cancer care services. The company’s 1,000 cancer care providers care for approximately 615,000 patients at more than 339 sites nationwide. In April 2023, OneOncology was acquired by TPG Capital and AmerisourceBergen from General Atlantic.
According to the original press release from June 24, 2024, Anderson Area Cancer Center is the second South Carolina oncology practice and 23rd nationally to join OneOncology’s network. The financial terms were not disclosed.
According to data captured in the LevinPro HC database, this acquisition marks the 248th Physician Medical Group transaction of the year and the 13th in the oncology specialty. This is more than double the five oncology transactions that were reported between January 1, 2023, and June 25, 2023.
