On May 15, Evergreen Nephrology announced that it acquired Western Nephrology.
Western Nephrology provides nephrology services out of one location in Wheat Ridge, Colorado. Its services include clinical services and all forms of dialysis. According to its website, the practice has 16 physicians on staff.
A portfolio company that was launched by Rubicon Founders, Evergreen Nephrology partners with nephrologists to provide the financial backing to take on increased cost of care risks associated with value-based care, which offers financial incentives to physicians, health systems and other providers based on quality of care.
Western Nephrology is the third nephrology practice in Colorado to join with Evergreen in providing innovative, value-based-care strategies for people living with kidney disease. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
According to data captured in the LevinPro HC database, this acquisition represents the 201st Physician Medical Group transaction of 2024, and the second in the nephrology specialty. This deal also marks Evergreen Nephrology’s first acquisition of 2024. In 2023, the company acquired two practices: Nephrology Associates of Central Florida and Hypertension Nephrology Associates.
