Genomenon has announced that it entered into an agreement to acquire Clinical Knowledgebase (CKB) from The Jackson Laboratory (JAX).
CKB is the leading curated variant database used for interpreting complex cancer genomic profiles by some of the world’s premier oncology labs.
Founded in 1929, JAX is an NCI-designated cancer center and an independent 501(c)3 nonprofit research organization with a focus on genetics and genomics research.
Genomenon is a genomics intelligence company dedicated to improving the quality of life of genetic disease and cancer patients by making genomic information actionable. Genomenon combines its genomic expertise with its AI-driven technology to deliver actionable insights to leading clinical diagnostic laboratories and precision therapeutic companies. It is based in Ann Arbor, Michigan and was founded in 2014.
This acquisition allows Genomenon to have a deeper understanding of the genome, with insights now covering both germline and somatic variants, furthering its lead in the race to curate the genome. Financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.
