Summit BHC has announced its entry into the New England market with the acquisition of Sobriety Centers of New Hampshire (SCNH). Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

SCNH operates addiction treatment facilities in New Hampshire. These centers provide a broad array of substance use disorder treatments and services, including detoxification, residential and various levels of outpatient programs.

Summit BHC was founded in 2013 to develop and operate a network of leading addiction treatment and behavioral health centers throughout the United States. Including the newly acquired facilities, the company owns and operates 31 inpatient facilities across 19 states. Its services include acute inpatient care, detoxification programs and residential and outpatient services. In September 2021, Summit BHC was acquired by Patient Square Capital, a dedicated healthcare investment firm headquartered in Menlo Park, California.

Brent Turner, CEO of Summit, commented on the acquisition: “We are thrilled to welcome SCNH into the Summit family. This acquisition is consistent with our strategic growth and commitment to excellence. We are eager to further the work of the dedicated professionals at SCNH and continue delivering exceptional care to the communities they serve.”

According to the LevinPro HC database, this acquisition represents the ninth Behavioral Health Care (BHC) transaction of 2024. There were 83 BHC transactions announced during 2023, and 113 announced during 2022.
