Atlas Clinical Research, backed by healthcare private equity investor BPOC, announced the addition of Suncoast Clinical Research.
Founded in 1998, Suncoast Clinical Research is a multi-therapeutic, community-based research facility with two locations in New Port Richey and Palm Harbor, Florida. Suncoast conducts Phase II-IV clinical research. It has conducted hundreds of clinical research studies and cultivated strong relationships with local communities, sponsors and contract research organizations as a go-to site for clinical research in the key therapeutic areas of central nervous system (CNS) and metabolic disorders.
Atlas Clinical Research is a therapeutically-driven clinical site network built on centralized process excellence and integrated technology. Atlas Clinical Research was launched by BPOC in April 2023 and specializes in infectious disease, CNS, gastroenterology and internal medicine.
Krevolin & Horst, LLC served as legal counsel to Suncoast Clinical Research. Three Twenty-One Capital Partners LLC served as financial advisor and Paul Hastings LLP served as legal counsel to Atlas Clinical Research. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
According to data captured in the LevinPro HC database, this acquisition marks the 43rd clinical trials transaction of the year. It also marks Atlas Clinical Research’s third acquisition of the year. The company previously acquired Suburban Research Associates and Rochester Clinical Research in July.
