International Isotopes, Inc. announced on June 21 that it acquired AMICI Inc.’s line of nuclear lung ventilation products.

AMICI is a leading manufacturer and distributor of diagnostic and therapeutic products for lung ventilation. This includes masks, mouthpieces, backer/virus filters and the Swirler Radioaerosol System that maximizes airflow. The company was founded in 1978. 

The acquisition of AMICI’s nuclear lung ventilation products includes the manufacturing molds, device registrations, trademarks and all production rights.

International Isotopes supplies sodium iodide I-131 as an FDA approved generic drug product and manufactures a full range of nuclear medicine calibration and reference standards. The company also provides cobalt-60 products for medical and industrial applications.

This acquisition will further complement International Isotopes’ RadQual business line of nuclear medicine related product offerings. The financial terms were not disclosed.
