Summit Health announced on April 24 it acquired High Desert Family Medicine, a one-physician family medicine practice in Sunriver, Oregon. 

Summit Health is a not-for-profit healthcare system based in south-central Pennsylvania with locations in New York. It includes two acute-care hospitals, Chambersburg Hospital and Waynesboro Hospital, as well as several outpatient clinics and services, including Summit Health Primary Care.

Summit Health said it will take over operations of the clinic. The acquisition of  High Desert Family Medicine expands Summit’s presence to Oregon. The financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed. This transaction also marks Summit Health’s acquisition of the year. In 2022, Summit Health engaged in seven transactions. 

According to data captured in the LevinPro HC database, this transaction represents the 172nd Physician Medical Groups (PMG) transaction of the year, and 20th in the internal medicine specialty. From January 1, 2022, through April 24, 2022, 176 PMG acquisitions were reported.
