Medical Specialists of the Palm Beaches, Inc. (MSPB), a portfolio company of private equity firm Ascend Partners, announced on April 10 that it acquired Palm Beach Digestive Associates (PBDA).
PBDA is a premier gastroenterology practice and colonoscopy clinic run by 12 providers. It has five offices in Florida, serving the Ft. Lauderdale and Boca Raton MSAs.
MSPB is a primary care-focused, multi-specialty physician medical group (PMG) practice in South Florida. It has a team of more than 100 providers that cover a range of specialties including cardiology, primary care and neurology. The practice also provides laboratory care.
Effective immediately, PBDA will become the Gastrointestinal Division of MSPB, extending its scope, reach and clinical offerings. The financial terms were not disclosed.
According to data captured in the LevinPro HC database, this marks the 150th PMG transaction of 2023 and the eighth transaction in the gastroenterology specialty. In the same time frame of 2022, 158 PMG transactions were reported, 13 in the gastroenterology specialty.
