Highbar Physical Therapy has welcomed Physical Therapy U (PTU) to its growing community of affiliated practices. The deal was announced on November 12, 2025.
Physical Therapy U is a physical therapist–owned and operated practice with locations in Bridgewater, Buzzards Bay and Middleboro, Massachusetts.
Highbar Physical Therapy, formerly Performance Physical Therapy, is a physical therapy practice serving patients across more than 50 clinics throughout Rhode Island and Massachusetts.
As part of the Highbar Movement, PTU will continue operating under the same name, with the same clinicians, now supported by access to expanded resources, mentorship, professional development, clinical innovation and collaboration. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
This follows HighBar’s October 2025 acquisiton of Joint Ventures Physical Therapy, a 12-clinic practice in the Boston, Massachusetts MSA. In October 2024, the company acquired Peak Physical Therapy and Sports Performance, a 10-location physical therapy practice also in Massachusetts.
According to data in the LevinPro HC database, this transaction represents the 41st Rehabilitation transaction of the year. There were 47 Rehabilitation acquisitions announced in 2024, and 51 announced in 2023.
