On September 15, Genesee Scientific, based in San Diego, California, announced that it entered into an agreement to acquire Jade Scientific

Founded in 1995, Jade Scientific is a distributor of chemicals and consumables, serving clinical reference, pharma/biotech, industrial and environmental labs. It is based in Westland, Michigan. 

Founded in 1995, Genesee Scientific is a manufacturer and distributor of products to global life science markets. Genesee provides academic and biotech organizations with mission-critical scientific consumables and equipment, including filter tips, tissue cultures, reagents and other life science products. It is backed by LLR Partners

Together, the two companies will expand product offerings, strengthen customer relationships and reinforce Genesee’s position as a trusted partner for scientists across academia, biotech and diagnostic labs. The financial terms were not disclosed. 

According to data captured in the LevinPro HC database, this transaction marks the 22nd healthcare product distributor acquisition of the year. The most active buyer in the space is Asker Healthcare Group, which has announced five acquisitions in 2025, so far. The healthcare product distributor transaction with the largest purchase price of the year is UPSacquisition of Andlauer Healthcare Group Inc. for $1.6 billion.
