Team Select Home Care announced that it has acquired Marathon Nursing for an undisclosed price.
Marathon Nursing, headquartered in Braintree, Massachusetts, delivers skilled home nursing care to medically complex adult patients.
Founded in 2008, Team Select Home Care is a provider of in-home private-duty nursing services. The company serves medically complex pediatric and adult patients across 15 states.
“This is about more than a name,” Team Select Home Care CEO Fred Johnson said in a statement. “It’s about building on Marathon’s strong local foundation while bringing in Team Select’s national support and infrastructure. Together, we are better equipped to serve families and empower caregivers across Massachusetts.”
Marathon Nursing’s leadership, staff and caregivers will remain in place, with access to additional systems, infrastructure and support. Marathon Nursing will continue operating as “Team Select Home Care, previously known as Marathon Nursing”, through September 2025. On October 1, the organization will fully transition to the Team Select Home Care name.
According to data captured in the LevinPro HC database, this acquisition marks the 65th Home Health & Hospice (HH&H) transaction announced in 2025. There were 96 HH&H deals announced during full year (FY) 2024, 100 announced during FY 2023 and 115 announced during FY 2022.
