On May 21, The Smilist Management announced that it acquired its second practice of 2025 with the purchase of BrookBeam Dental.
BrookBeam Dental is a dental partnership organization supporting 16 offices in New York. According to its website, there are seven physicians.
The Smilist is a leading dental service organization offering general and cosmetic dentistry. Since its founding in 2014, It has grown to support more than 60 dental offices in New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Connecticut. The Smilist is backed by Zenyth Partners, an operationally focused healthcare investment firm.
The deal pushes The Smilist’s network to more than 100 offices, according to a May 21 news release. This follows The Smilist closing on a $285 million unitranche debt facility in April 2024 to continue its expansion. The financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
According to data in the LevinPro HC database, this marks the 180th Physician Medical Group acquisition of 2025 and the fifth in the dental service organization specialty. Throughout all of 2024, there were 242 dental transactions reported and 180 in 2023. In 2024, The Smilist announced three transactions.
