On April 29, South Bend Medical Foundation (SBMF) announced that it acquired ChartPro.
ChartPro is a medical records administration business based in Atlanta with an electronic health record (EHR) platform.
SBMF provides pathology and blood services out of three locations in the South Bend, Indiana MSA. According to its website, there are 18 pathologists on staff and a total of 140 employees.
The acquisition strengthens SBMF by diversifying its healthcare services, specifically expanding its capabilities managing EHR. The financial terms were not disclosed.
ChartPro will retain its name, and there will be no impact on the 30 to 40 employees working for the business, said Dominic Carpenter, director of sales and marketing for SBMF.
“This acquisition marks a significant step in our mission to provide high-quality healthcare solutions to those we serve,” Tim Travis, president and CEO of SBMF, said in the original release. “By bringing ChartPro into the SBMF family, we are enhancing our ability to support healthcare providers and invest in our community through healthcare education, providing scholarships to the next generation of healthcare workers, and supporting the advancement of research initiatives that impact people’s health and well-being,” he added.
According to data in the LevinPro HC database, this transaction represents the 103rd eHealth acquisition of 2025, and the sixth in the EHR subsector. Throughout all of 2024, 12 EHR transactions were announced and 16 in 2023.
