Carenet Health has announced the acquisition of Balto Health Services, a healthcare engagement provider with operations in the United States and El Salvador. Balto’s capabilities include bilingual patient and member engagement. The company is headquartered in Biloxi, Mississippi.

Carenet Health provides healthcare engagement services and 24/7 access to medical care by arranging transportation, organizing home health support and equipment, and explaining the benefits of exams and immunizations. It is headquartered in San Antonio, Texas, with additional office locations in New Mexico, Maine and the Philippines.

With the addition of Balto, Carenet will bolster its ability to deliver customized, bilingual managed services to start-up and mid-sized healthcare businesses looking to elevate their member/patient experiences.

The new business unit will operate within Carenet as “Carenet Launch” under the leadership of Balto’s founder and CEO, Carlos Baltodan, and maintain its strong operational presence in Biloxi, Mississippi, and El Salvador. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

According to data captured in the LevinPro HC database, this acquisition represents the 96th eHealth transaction of 2025, and the 19th in the patient engagement specialty. There were 33 patient engagement deals announced during 2024, 17 announced during 2023 and 43 announced during 2022.
