On April 9, Privia Health Group, Inc. announced that it entered into an agreement to acquire Integrated Medical Services, Inc. (IMS).
IMS is one of the largest independent multi-specialty practices in Arizona. According to its website, there are 75 physicians on staff who operate out of 21 locations. The group manages more than 28,000 attributed lives in a variety of value-based care arrangements across Commercial, Medicare, Medicare Advantage and Medicaid.
Founded in 2007, Privia Health Group is a technology-driven, national physician enablement company that collaborates with medical groups, health plans and health systems. Brighton Health Group is the parent company of Privia Health. According to its most recent financial report, Privia Health’s total revenue for FY 2023 was $1.65 billion.
With this transaction, Privia Health launches Privia Medical Group—Arizona, providing a new alternative for independent providers across the state to care for all patients regardless of the reimbursement model. IMS will serve as the anchor practice with a long-term management agreement with Privia Health and continue to be physician-owned and operated. The transaction and launch in Arizona is expected to be profitable starting in the fourth quarter of 2025 and for full-year 2026. Terms were not disclosed.
According to data captured in the LevinPro HC database, this marks the 123rd Physician Medical Group acquisition of 2025 and the ninth in the internal medicine specialty. There were 30 internal medicine transactions announced in 2024, and 46 announced in 2023.
