TrueBlue, the fifth-largest industrial staffing firm in the United States, announced that it is entering the healthcare staffing market with the acquisition of Healthcare Staffing Professionals (HSP). The deal closed on January 31, 2025.

HSP is based in Reseda, California, with operations across the United States. Its staffing lines include travel nurse, allied healthcare and behavioral health. HSP focuses on state and local government entities such as public health departments, correctional institutions and education systems.

TrueBlue is a staffing, recruiting and workforce management company that services industries such as construction, energy, manufacturing and financial. In 2023, TrueBlue served 67,000 clients and connected approximately 464,000 people to work.

HSP will continue operating under its current brand. Financial terms were not disclosed.

According to data captured in the LevinPro HC database, this acquisition represents the fifth healthcare staffing transaction of 2025. Earlier in the month CRH Medical Corporation acquired Harmony Anesthesia Staffing in Georgia, LaborEdge acquired CliniSight in Nevada, Harvest Ascend acquired Alumni Staffing in New Jersey and LightBay Capital invested in Ro Health in Washington. There were 25 healthcare staffing deals announced during 2024, 29 announced during 2023 and 35 announced during 2022.
