In a LinkedIn post on February 4, Heartland Dental announced that it was partnering with Jacobson Dental Group. The financial terms were not disclosed.
Jacobson Dental Group is a dental practice with one location in Walled Lake, Michigan. The practice offers general dentistry, cosmetic dentistry and same day dentistry services. According to its website, the practice is run by a team of four providers.
Heartland Dental is a dental support organization (DSO) providing non-clinical, administrative support services with more than 2,600 doctors in more than 1,650 locations across 38 states. The Effingham, Illinois-based DSO is majority-owned by KKR & Co. Inc., a global investment firm.
This marks Heartland Dental’s second acquisition of 2025. In January, the DSO acquired Garners Ferry Dentistry, a dental practice in Columbia, South Carolina, for an undisclosed amount.
According to data in the LevinPro HC database, this marks the 43rd Physician Medical Group acquisition of 2025, and the 14th in the dental specialty. There were 242 dental transactions announced in 2024, 180 announced in 2023 and 214 announced in 2022.
