Burjeel Holdings PLC, a leading healthcare provider listed on the Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange, has announced the acquisition of the Specialist Physiotherapy Center in Makkah, Saudi Arabia. The acquisition marks a milestone in Burjeel’s strategy to broaden its physiotherapy and rehabilitation services in Saudi Arabia.
The Specialist Physiotherapy Center, established in 2017, caters to a unique patient base, including Umrah and Hajj pilgrims, offering physiotherapy services at hotels to meet the specific needs of tourists and pilgrims. According to the original deal press release from January 2, 2024, the center had revenues of SAR 3.8 million (approximately $1 million USD) in 2023.
Founded in 2007, Burjeel Holdings is one of the leading private healthcare service providers in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), providing healthcare delivery and patient management across a network of hospitals, medical centers, pharmacies and other services. Burjeel Holdings’s premium healthcare brand, Burjeel Hospital, is a private tertiary healthcare provider in the UAE. Burjeel’s PhysioTherabia network is a specialized platform for physiotherapy and wellness services in Saudi Arabia.
As part of the acquisition, the facility will be integrated into Burjeel’s PhysioTherabia network. Burjeel aims to enhance the center’s offerings in the coming months by focusing on pediatric and neuro-rehabilitation programs, as well as by introducing advanced technologies, such as cryotherapy chambers and the David System for physiotherapy. These expansions will ensure that the center meets the demand for specialized physiotherapy services in Saudi Arabia.
In a quote, Burjeel Holdings said “This acquisition aligns with our mission to deliver world-class physiotherapy and rehabilitation services while catering to the unique needs of Saudi Arabia’s residents and pilgrims.”
