U.S. Physical Therapy, Inc., a national operator of outpatient physical therapy clinics and provider of industrial injury prevention services, announced on December 2 the acquisition of a hand and physical therapy practice with eight clinic locations in Wyoming.
According to the original deal press release from December 2, 2024, the acquired practice currently generates approximately $6.5 million in annual revenues and 43,000 in annual visits.
Founded in 1990, U.S. Physical Therapy operates more than 764 outpatient physical therapy clinics in 43 states. The company’s clinics provide preventive and post-operative care for a variety of orthopedic-related disorders and sports-related injuries, treatment for neurologically-related injuries and rehabilitation of injured workers.
U.S. Physical Therapy acquired a 75% interest in hand and physical therapy practice, with the current owners retaining a 25% ownership interest. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
This deal marks U.S. Physical Therapy’s fifth transaction of 2024. In April, it acquired a physical therapy and hand therapy practice with nine clinic locations, generating approximately $11.4 million in annual revenues. That practice was acquired for a purchase price of $16.4 million. In May, U.S. Physical Therapy acquired a two-clinic physical therapy practice with approximately $1 million in annual revenue. In September, the company acquired a Pennsylvania-based physical therapy and hand therapy practice with eight locations, generating approximately $5.5 million in annual revenues. Then, in October, U.S. Physical Therapy announced its acquisition of a management services organization (MSO) providing management and administrative services to 50 physical therapy clinics, the majority of which are in New York. The acquired MSO generates approximately $64 million in annual revenue and approximately $12 million in annual EBITDA on a consolidated basis.
