On November 19, Summit Spine & Joint Centers announced that it acquired Integrated Pain Solutions (IPS) for an undisclosed amount.

IPS is a pain management practice with 11 locations in North Carolina. According to its website, the practice has two board-certified medical directors on staff: Drs. Thomas Bresly and Todd Reiter. They are supported by a team of 16 employees.

Backed by MSouth Equity Partners, Summit Spine & Joint Centers is a management services organization that provides administrative and support services to its network of clinics and ambulatory surgery centers across the Southeast. The company’s footprint includes 41 locations across Georgia, Tennessee and North Carolina.

This marks the first “add-on” acquisition for Summit Spine & Joint Centers. The acquisition of IPS expands Summit’s presence into North Carolina, its third state.

Also, according to LevinPro HC data, this transaction marks the 431st Physician Medical Group acquisition of 2024, and the seventh in the pain management specialty for the year. In all of 2023, there were seven pain management transactions announced.
