On October 30, Lumia Care announced that it has expanded into South Australia through its acquisition of Pop-Up Health. Founded in 2012, Pop-Up Health serves more than 400 South Australians daily with in-home and specialty healthcare.

Lumia Care is an Australian healthcare group offering homecare services with personalized care plans, including assistance with daily activities and medical care, to support individuals at home.

The Pop-Up Health acquisition brings 330 new nurses and care workers to Lumia’s network, extending its reach and service offerings across Australia. By joining Lumia, Pop-Up Health benefits from a national platform that supports local expertise with additional resources, enhancing care quality and technological advancements. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

According to data captured in the LevinPro HC database, this acquisition marks the 77th Home Health & Hospice (HH&H) transaction of the year, and the second announced in Australia. In July, Australian company Silverchain acquired KinCare, a Bella Vista, Australia-based provider of home care services intended to serve elderly people. There were 100 HH&H deals announced during 2023, and 115 announced during 2022.
